BIM is probably the most revolutionary tool to come into the design and construction industry in recent times and is rapidly changing and improving the way that Contractors deliver projects. With the many benefits of BIM, it is increasingly being recognized in an industry burdened with high levels of waste, poor coordination, challenging construction programmes and reduced profit margins. Delivering projects using traditional inefficient processes is simply not sustainable.
BIMAGE offers a range of services tailored to Contractors ranging from assistance with the formulation and implementation of a BIM policy to a full BIM outsourcing service. We can assist in the creation of full BIM models and construction documentation for the entire project, as well as partial BIM models for programming studies with clash detection of particular aspects of a project.
More projects have the Owner and Consultants requesting for the initial BIM execution plans from Contractors during the tender stage, in order to evaluate their BIM/VDC capabilities. Support and creation of the BEP can be provided, in relation to the project type and Owner of the project.
Outsourced Modelling Support
Customers who wish to see quick modeling works to fit the day or for submission, can consider this service on an ad-hoc basis. It is important to seek help to buy time and save on overspending HR resources. There are also strategies in modeling support to help save costs and work smart.
Our BIM consultants will advise the pros and cons before taking up this service.
HR deployment – BIM Management, Coordination, and Modelling
This service is recommended only for clients who seek short-term hire from us.
It is ideally better for our BIM consultants to train your team, however, if there are times that works are needed to be supported on site (due to the absence of your BIM manager, coordinator, and modeler), our BIM consultants or BIM specialists can fit in the role at your convenience.
Some of these can be done off-site smartly to manage costs effectively. The suggested works include modeling, families/objects creation, model updating and model checks (QA/QC)
Integration of the construction master programme into the BIM models and showcasing it during the tender presentation or tender interviews.
Training and working closely with the Contractor’s project team can be included here.
Quantity take-offs and cost estimation done from the input of the BIM models and showcasing it during tender presentation or tender interviews. Training and working closely with the Contractor’s Quantity Surveyors can be included here.
Value-adding the tender submission through BIM/VDC CVs of senior and highly capable BIM consultants to assume BIM coordinators or BIM manager roles in projects.
Working closely with the Contractor’s BIM team to create value-added BIM/VDC write-ups, answer BIM/VDC related tender clarifications and provide support to Contractor during tender presentations for the Owner & Consultants.
Working hand-in-hand with the Contractor to develop a detailed Project BIM Execution Plan that encompasses the overall BIM/VDC workflows, collaborations, best practices, and more.
This shall be created to ensure it is well received and understood by the Consultants & Owners.
The client can consider BIM Consultant as a neutral party to qualify the BIM model for acceptance on accuracy and model quality.
This service is highly professional for the auditor to provide reports, findings and improvement points to the model controller in making adjustments. The process involves a lot of study in owner’s acceptable standards and certain methodologies are devised to make sure that the model is usable in the future.
Leading the Contractor’s BIM team by assuming the onsite BIM/VDC management role, taking care of the overall quality of the BIM models and meeting and managing the expectations of the Owner and Consultants without compromising the scope of work for the Contractor.
Laser-Scan
The existing building that requires a record BIM model can be created with the use of a laser scan for accuracy. Laser scan can be used to develop models with great accuracy from as-built site conditions.
Leading the BIM team onsite (Contractor and Subcontractors) on the coordination of Architectural, Structural and M&E models, and running manual and automatic clash detections, whilst creating clash reports to be documented.
Continue updating existing BIM model along with the progress of an ongoing project to match the model with any necessary project changes. The updated model can then be utilized to create and produce the required shop drawings needed for construction.
Creating and updating 4D simulation to represent project sequencing for construction schedule planning, model visualization, site mobilization, project management and actual/planned timeline comparison.
BIM Quick Start Adoption Programme – BIM QSAP
This programme introduces a basic understanding of BIM, inclusive of minimum 7 days of technical and process training and 7 days of practical training.
BIM Technical 80% and BIM Management 20%.
BIM Competency Enhancement & Adoption Programme – BIM CEAP
This programme is an advanced stage to develop client’s BIM process, framework, BIM execution plan and guideline for their team. The technical training may involve advanced clash detection analysis, 4D simulation, basic material take-off, and others.
BIM Technical 40% and BIM Management 60%.
Project Based Handholding Training
Providing customized training and exclusive teaching to client’s company at the site. This is important for new learners as they can learn quickly with familiar projects, grasp the concept of BIM works and adopt into their project easily with more time and interest invested by the individual in an actual or pilot project.
Further value adding to the BIM models by incorporating FM parameters and attributes into the model based on the Owner’s pre-defined requirements. COBie formats could be used, along with OmniClass, Uniclass, Uniformat, and other classifications.
Advisory on administrative claims procedures and technical training for contractors to be confident in BIM coordination meetings.
This will expose the contractors in understanding the requirements and in adopting the BIM/VDC workflow accordingly.
